THREE RULES:
NO RIBBONS. NO BURLAP. NO FEATHERS.
When you make your grand entrance, your guests should be staring at you (*mouths agape, eyes misting up, a soft “wow” whispered in the audience for dramatic flair*) not batting feathers out of their face or trying to peer over large marble columns wrapped in violet tulle. Aisle decor should be chic and complement your theme in an understated manner. Whether you choose candles or florals, framed photos or quotes – add a custom touch to your aisle that will make it more you; see my fav 2017 inspo below:
TRENDY & TROPICAL
Greenery continues to dominate wedding floral trends, and it doesn’t get much more tropical than adding palm fronds to your aisle. They’re budget friendly, colorful, and easy for your guests to maneuver through.
FOCUSED FLORALS
Marking your guests seats with a few flowers and long garlands is simple yet super elegant and easy to match with any theme or season.
LUCITE CANDLE BOXES
So romantic! You know lucite/acrylic is taking over 2017 weddings, why not light up your aisle with glowing candles contained in a lucite holder? Definitely a little more risky – so have your guests enter from the other side of the rows.
QUAINT QUOTES
This one is ALL over Pinterest – and I can see why! Couples love the idea of making their aisle personalized with calligraphy on wood signs featuring favorite song lyrics, scriptures or love quotes.
TULLE DETAIL
One of the few instances in which I’m okay with tulle decor – play up your theme by adding an ornament to your aisle way! Braid tulle or ribbon around your chairs for a prettier aesthetic. You could use this for any theme or season, just swatch the starfish for a maple leaf or fir tree branch.
LIFTED LANTERNS
Love candles but not crazy about leaving them on the ground? Suspend them with gorgeously classic lanterns! Add flowers on top to really impress your guests.
PREPPED WITH PINEAPPLE
I love love love pineapples – the taste, the symbol, the colors, everything. The undying pineapple trend is perfect for weddings because it’s SO easy to incorporate them! Mark the aisle with pineapple and petals (you can even spray paint them a metallic color for added depth!)
POSTED UP PUMPKINS
I adore this autumn aisle decor idea because it’s a classic, cute way to incorporate said overdone fall icon without going over the top. I’d fawn over a row of white pumpkins leading me to the love of my life!
FRAMED PHOTOS
Not into frills or flowers? Make your ceremony venue totally customized by decorating your aisle with framed photos! You can include your engagement photos, your parents/extended family’s wedding pics, or significant photos from your relationship.
LOTS OF LEMONS
Can you tell I’m really into the whole edible decor thing? It doesn’t get any easier (or sweeter) than marking your seaside Hamptons nuptials or backyard big day with bright, beautiful lemons. Bonus points for being eco-friendly.
These are such amazing tips and I’m obsessing over these inspo photos!
